Howard Lewis Dansby passed away on September 11, 2025 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born in Coshocton, Ohio, on August 7, 1952, to the late Luther (Patricia) Dansby and Dorothy (Jonas) Jackson Dansby Baron. After high school, Howard served in the United States military. Howard lived life unapologetically his way. He never stayed in one place too long; however, he never wavered from his love of family. Howard never met a stranger, as he was often heard offering to help somebody. He liked to think he was the best jokester, as he was constantly trying to make somebody laugh. In addition to his parents and step-parents, Howard is preceded in death by his sons Howard Dansby Jr. and Jonathan Dansby, brother William “Topper” Edward, (Maxine), and step-sisters-in-law Theresa L. Cox and Diana L. Cox. He is survived by his son, Joshua Dansby, stepson Terrence Nelson, and stepdaughter Krishna Brown. Ex-wife Teresa Dansby. Johnnie Nelson (children’s mother). Grandchildren. His half-sister, Mary E. (Howard) Dansby Fletcher, stepbrothers Pastor Keith A. (Dorothy) Wyatt, Sr., Michael L. Cox, and David R. Cox, and stepsisters Johanna K. Cox and Dawn L. Cox. He has an abundance of cherished family members he leaves to mourn his passing. Trujillo family Funeral Home is serving the family. Howard had chosen cremation. The Memorial Service will be held on October 22, 2025.
