Gilbert James Montano

Gilbert James Montano, aged 63, was born on March 8, 1962, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, to the late George and Frances Montano. He passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026. Gilbert was laid to rest on April 17, 2026, in Portales, New Mexico.

Gilbert is lovingly remembered by his older brother, Elmer Joe Montano; his daughters, Leslie Alicia Frances Lopez (Adam Dominic Lopez) and Monique Reyna Olivas (Joseph Natividad Olivas); and his cherished grandchildren Addison Maranda Lopez, Naleya Nicole Olivas, Jose Manuel Natividad Olivas IV, Luka Rey Olivas, and Kataleya Raquel Olivas. He was preceded in death by his brothers Aldofo Montano, Ernest Montano, and Joe Montano.

Gilbert was blessed with a large and loving family who will forever hold dear the memories they shared with him. His presence enriched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of warmth and friendship remains in our hearts always.
