It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gina Morales, who left us on August 24, 2024, while she slept. Born on April 24, 1966, in, New Mexico, she was a cherished daughter of Tony Pena and Cyrilla Samora.
Gina’s life was marked by love and connection. She is preceded in death by her beloved father, Tony Pena; her brother, Mark Montoya; and her loving grandparents, Max and Cruzcita Pena, and Isaac and Erminia Montoya. While she may be gone, she lives on in the hearts of those who survive her: her devoted husband, Jeff Morales; her mother, Cyrilla, and her partner, Salvador; her cherished son, Lonie Morales, and daughter-in-law, Alexis; and her two beautiful granddaughters, Olivia and Sophia Morales. She also leaves behind her brother, Tim Pena, and sister-in-law, Cynthia, along with an extended family of uncles, nieces, nephews, and countless cousins who were all touched by her warmth.
Gina had a special passion for spending time with her granddaughters, whom she adored, and often found joy in sharing stories and accomplishments about her son, Lonie. Every day, she spoke with her mother, strengthening the bond they shared, and she always kept her husband, Jeff, on his toes with her spirited personality. A devoted caregiver, Gina treated her clients with the same love and care she lavished on her own family, making each individual feel special and valued.
A celebration of Gina’s life will take place on Saturday, September 14th, at Immaculate Conception Church in Cuba, New Mexico. The rosary will begin at 10 AM, followed by the Mass at 11 AM, with a funeral service and reception to follow.
As we remember Gina, let us carry forward her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
