Facing childhood illness, George Waddy’s goal was once to make it to 21 years old. Instead he

celebrated his 80th birthday in March. He got to live a big, full life, and he left a big, full impact

on those he loved. He met the love of his life and they had two children together. His family

meant everything to him. He was continually proud of their accomplishments, big and small.

George met trials and joys alike with humor and a courageous heart. He was proud to be a

member of the Choctaw nation. He was a true appreciator of life, and someone who was moved

by beauty. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, cleverness, creativity, and a reminder to

always carry around a flashlight and a pocket knife, just in case.
