George Randol McFall

George Randol McFall, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, attorney, author, and

friend, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026, at the age of 78.

George was born on April 1, 1948, in Clinton, Oklahoma, to Georgann (Randol) McFall and

Glen F. McFall. Although born in Oklahoma, Albuquerque, New Mexico, became the place he

proudly called home and where he spent his formative years. He graduated from Manzano High

School, where he formed a remarkable circle of lifelong friends affectionately known as the

"Great Eight": Don Rushing, Phil Green, Raphael Garcia, Ron Stevens, Mark Christian, Don

Holden, Ray Schowers, and George. Their enduring friendship was one of the great blessings of

his life.

George continued his education at Stanford University, where he earned his undergraduate

degree and met two additional cherished lifelong friends, Bil Barber and Neil McMahon. After

ten years in construction, he decided to pursue his dream and attended the University of New

Mexico School of Law, graduating cum laude with his Juris Doctor.

For more than three decades, George practiced law as a partner at the Modrall Law Firm,

dedicating his entire legal career to the firm. He became widely respected as an outstanding

employment law attorney whose wisdom, integrity, and unwavering professionalism earned the

admiration of clients and colleagues alike. His counsel was thoughtful, his advocacy steadfast,

and his mentorship invaluable to countless attorneys who followed in his footsteps.

Above all else, George was devoted to his family. He shared 51 wonderful years of marriage

with the love of his life, Carol McFall. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter,

adventure, and unwavering support for one another.

He was the proud and devoted father of two daughters, Jenifer Metz and her husband, Brett

Metz, and Zoe Enright and her husband, Rex Enright. Nothing brought George greater joy than

being "Georgie" to his three beloved grandchildren, Ryder Metz, Grier Metz, and Ava Enright.

They were the light of his life, and he delighted in watching them grow, celebrating every

milestone with immense pride.

George is also survived by his brother, Jeff McFall and his wife, Paula Maynes; his nephews,

Hugh McFall and his wife, Brittanie and Guy McFall (deceased); and his sister, Jane Davenport

and husband John Davenport (deceased). His Oklahoma roots and extended family remained

close to his heart throughout his life, and he treasured the relationships and memories that

connected him to his family's heritage.

Retirement simply opened the door to new passions and opportunities to serve others. George

became a dedicated volunteer reader for the New Mexico State Library for the Blind and Print

Disabled in Santa Fe, where he also served as a member of the Board of Directors. Through his

time and talents, he helped bring literature and learning to those with visual impairments, a cause

that was deeply meaningful to him.

George also fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a novelist. He authored Bosque Moon, a

historical novel inspired by the legendary New Mexico figure El Fego Baca, reflecting both his

love of storytelling and his deep appreciation for the rich history and culture of New Mexico.

To know George was to know someone who embraced life with enthusiasm, curiosity, and

unmistakable style. He had a dynamic personality that made everyone feel welcome and valued.

He loved sharing a great bottle of wine with friends, never passed up the opportunity to wear a

colorful tie, and believed no outfit was complete without the perfect hat. Many Saturdays found

him browsing The Man's Hat Shop in Albuquerque, happily adding another treasured piece to his

ever-growing collection.

George was an insatiable reader, an avid music aficionado, and a passionate collector whose

libraries of books and vinyl records reflected a lifetime of intellectual curiosity and appreciation

for great literature and music. He and Carol shared a love of travel that took them around the

world, creating unforgettable memories and friendships wherever they went.

George's greatest legacy, however, is not found in his professional accomplishments or personal

pursuits, but in the lives he touched. He possessed a rare gift for making people laugh, offering

thoughtful advice, engaging in meaningful conversation, and making every person he

encountered feel important. His kindness, generosity, intelligence, wit, and genuine interest in

others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, his family and friends take comfort in the

countless memories he created, the values he lived by, and the enduring love he gave so freely.

George's life was one of purpose, integrity, adventure, and deep affection for those around him.

He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 19 th at Tramway Plaza Event Center,

11:00am-1:00pm. 9600 Tennyson St NE, Albuquerque, NM 87122. In lieu of flowers, the family

encourages memorial contributions to the New Mexico State Library for the Blind and Print

Disabled in Santa Fe.
