Gene Emiliano Pacheco Jr

Gene Pacheco, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on May 16, 2025, at the age of 56. He was born on April 16, 1969, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Gene dedicated 30 wonderful years of his life to his beloved wife, Victoria C. Pacheco. Together, they created a loving home for their children: Damian Pacheco and Mariah Acosta-Pacheco, as well as Darian Pacheco and Ashley Gonzalez-Pacheco. Gene took immense pride in his family, and he was deeply loved by his grandchildren: Eli, Annette, Ezra, Amera, Aria, Damian Jr., and Avery Pacheco.

Growing up in the Pajarito area’s South Valley, Gene's faith was a cornerstone of his life, having received his Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation at San Ignacio Catholic Church. His strong connection to his faith and community continued throughout his life.

Gene is survived by his loving mother, Beatrice Pacheco, and his brother, Reggie Pacheco, along with Reggie's wife, Michelle, and their children, who all held a special place in his heart. He is also remembered by extended family members, including the Cortez, Vigil, and Pacheco families from Denver, Colorado, and Las Vegas, New Mexico. Gene was preceded in death by his father, Gene Pacheco Sr., and his beloved mother-in-law, Eleanor V. Cortez.

Gene's memory will forever be alive in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him, including many nieces, nephews, and friends. Special recognition goes to God-son Frankie Cordova, who has shared in Gene's life.

In honor of Gene's life, a Rosary and viewing will be held for immediate family on Friday, May 23, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Trujillo’s Funeral Service, located at 110 Alvarado Dr SE. A Memorial Mass will take place at Holy Family Catholic Church on Saturday, May 24, at 9:00 a.m., followed by final burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.

The Tecolote Community will remember Gene with ringing church bells at 8:30 a.m. on May 20, 2025, a tribute arranged by his Auntie Jane Pacheco.

To celebrate Gene's life, the Pacheco family invites all to join them for a potluck gathering at their residence, 4009 Barbara Vista Ave SW, immediately following the burial. Guests are encouraged to bring their favorite dish or dessert to share.

As we reflect on Gene’s legacy, let us remember his vibrant spirit and the joy he brought to those around him. His family expresses heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been part of his life and who joins in this celebration of his enduring spirit.

Psalm 23:4 reminds us: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me. Thy staff and thy rod shall comfort me.” Gene is now walking home to his Father and His son Jesus Christ, with happiness and no fear.
