Fidel “Fiddels” Lucero, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque’s North Valley, passed away on April 12, 2026 at the age of 64.
Born and raised in the North Valley, Fidel was the eldest son of Fidel and Janet Lucero. He proudly carried his father’s name and was known by all who loved him as “Fiddels.”
Fidel served his country in the United States Army before returning home to build a life centered around family. He shared over 35 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Patricia, and together they opened their hearts and home to raise their three children, Stephanie, Antonio, and Felipe.
He had a one-of-a-kind personality—known for his funny sense of humor and his playful confidence, often joking about how handsome he was. Fidel found joy in the simple things in life, especially spending time outdoors and fishing, where he felt most at peace.
Fidel was preceded in death by his parents, Fidel and Janet Lucero; his wife, Patricia; and his son, Felipe.
He is survived by his loving children, Stephanie and Antonio; his brother, Robert (Sharon); his sisters, Patricia (Jesus), Terry, and Janet (Debbie) and many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
Fidel will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His laughter, warmth, and enduring love for his family will never be forgotten.
