Felicia Belen Garcia De Cova

January 22, 1930 — November 8, 2025

Felicia Belen Garcia de Cova, lovingly known to family and friends as “Fela,” passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the age of 95. A devoted mother, educator, and woman of strong faith, Fela’s long and fulfilling life was defined by her dedication to family, education, and her unwavering belief in God’s plan.

Felicia was born on January 22, 1930, in Aguasay, Estado Monagas, Venezuela. She was the daughter of Pedro Noguera and Rosa Garcia and sister to Manuel, Pablo Emilio and Belen Ovalles, and aunt to Eziquel Cova all of whom preceded her in death.

Education was both her vocation and passion. In 1970, Fela obtained her degree as a Primary School Teacher, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Education in 1975 and a Master’s degree in Orientation in 1977 at Universidad Central de Venezuela. She began her teaching career at Bolivar National School, where her natural warmth and patience captured the hearts of her students. Later, she served as Head of the Orientation Department at Pimentel School, where she became known for her commitment to student well-being and personal growth. Felicia encouraged and valued education for her extended family. She gladly opened her home to nieces and nephews who migrated to Caracas to pursue their education. Her welcoming love and hospitality was greatly appreciated.

After her retirement at age 65, she continued her mission of compassion and faith, working with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Congregation in Caracas, devoting her time to community service and spiritual guidance.

Fela was happiest surrounded by the love of family. She shared a beautiful marriage with her late husband, Guillermo Cova, built upon mutual respect and a shared faith. Together they raised a family whose achievements and virtues stand as a testament to their guidance and devotion.

Felicia is survived by her Children: Zulay Cova, Luisa Cova, Miriam Cova De Stoisavlejevic (Rade), Guillermo J. Cova (Edna). Grandchildren: Daniel Cova (Cindy), Andrea Cova Bernal (Danny), Rade Guillermo Stoisavlejevic (Johanna) and Rade Kelly Stoisavlejevic. Great Grand Children: Lena, Ava and Ignacio Cova, Citlali Bernal, and Ihan Stoisavlejevic. Nieces and Nephews: Rosa, Felicia, Josefina, Maria G., Jose and Carlos Garcia, Leira Cova. Sister-In-Law: Micaela Cova.

In 2015, Felicia immigrated to the United States to spend precious time with Guillermo, Luisa, and grandchildren Daniel and Andrea. Despite leaving her homeland, she carried Venezuela in her heart and continued to nurture her family with the same love and principles that guided her life.

Fela’s life was richly filled with simple joy; traveling with her husband and family, attending church, and maintaining close connections with her loved ones. Her guiding philosophy—rooted in patience, ethics, and Christian morality—touched every aspect of her life.

A rosary will be prayed in her honor on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 8:00 a.m., followed by a Mass at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church 562 Atrisco Dr. SW, Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA.

Loved one and friends are invited to join in celebrating her life after the mass at the home of Guillermo and Edna. As Fela often reminded those she loved most: “Paciencia, el tiempo de Dios es perfecto.”
