In Loving Memory of Eufracio “Sparky” Escarcida July 30, 1950 – July 07, 2024 Eufracio Escarcida 73, affectionately known as “Sparky,” beloved husband of Kathy, devoted father of Dennis and his wife Yumiko, and Brenda and her husband Armando, and cherished grandfather to six grandchildren; Shane, Liana, Analycia, Alexander, Lorenzo, and Nadia, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on July 07, 2024, on a beautiful Placitas Sunday afternoon. Sparky took his first breath on July 30, 1950, in the village of Placitas, NM, Sparky was a man who knew how to embrace life's celebrations. He had a zest for parties, a passion for dancing to the lively rhythms of New Mexico music, and a knack for making every gathering a memorable event. Whether it was at Casa Blanca or Reno’s, his presence lit up the room and brought joy to those around him. Sparky devoted his life to construction, beginning with Bradbury Stamm in the 1970’s before co-founding A&E Construction Company with his brother Andrew in the 1980s. Together, they built hundreds of homes across New Mexico, to include several in Placitas and surrounding areas. Perhaps nothing captured Sparky's enthusiasm quite like his wife Kathy's cooking, Denver Broncos football, love for muscle cars, and 1950s automobiles. He poured his heart and soul into these vehicles, earning numerous trophies and plaques at car shows, each one a testament to his dedication and expertise. His eyes would gleam with pride as he talked about his prized possessions, sharing stories and memories with all his family and friends. His garage was a sanctuary, filled with the scent of motor oil and the hum of engines, a place where dreams took shape in chrome and steel. Beyond his love for cars, Sparky cherished the time spent with his brothers, bonding over shared adventures in hunting and the camaraderie of family gatherings. He was a man who valued loyalty and cherished the connections he made throughout his life. His stories of their hunts were legendary, filled with humor, bravery, and a deep appreciation for nature. As a father, Sparky was a wellspring of wisdom, strength, and unwavering support for his children, Dennis and Brenda. He took immense pride in their accomplishments and found joy in their happiness. His guidance and love will forever resonate in their lives. Sparky adored his role as a grandfather. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his six grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Throughout his life, Sparky cultivated enduring friendships and touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity. He will be fondly remembered for his passion for harvesting chilis, restoring old cars, hunting, and his cherished visits to Hawaii to be with family. In addition to his immediate family, Sparky is survived by many loving brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins. They shared a bond of love and support that enriched Sparky’s life. Sparky will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. The family extends their deepest gratitude to all who have and continue to support them during this time.
