Erma D. Lente

Erma D. Lente (DiGregorio) passed peacefully into her heavenly life on October 12th at 97 years of age while at her residence and surrounded by her family in Albuquerque. She was born August 27th, 1928, in Gallup, New Mexico and met and married her husband Arthur Lente on July 29th, 1950. They had recently celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. They started a family of five, moving to Albuquerque when transferred for job requirements by the Public Health Service, Indian Health Service, Navajo Area office.

While having many talents, Erma enjoyed traveling, baking and singing in her church choir. She was also one of the founding members in 1953 of the Holy Ghost Catholic parish as well as being a professed member of the Secular Franciscan Order, St. Anthony Fraternity.

Survivors include her husband of 75 years, Arthur; Children Michael Lente of Albuquerque, Francis Lente of Rio Rancho, Gregory Lente of Bremerton, Washington and Debra Remington of Commerce, Texas. Her family tree sprouted 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Carol Lente of Albuquerque and son-in-law Bob Tanis of Indiana. Also preceding her were her parents, Mary and Salvatore (Silvio) DiGregorio, her sisters Catherine Pomponio, Jenny and Elsie DiGregorio and brothers Amelio and Fred DiGregorio.

On Friday, October 17, 2025, a viewing and rosary will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Parish, 833 Arizona S.E. in Albuquerque starting at 9:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am and with interment at the Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd, N.E. in Albuquerque following services at 12 noon. Pallbearers will be Dean DiGregorio, Frank Lente, Justin Lente and Gene Lente.
