Erica Marie Moya passed away on March 9, 2026, unexpectedly after a brief illness. Erica was born on July 12, 1985, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Erica graduated in 2003 from West Mesa High School. She shined as a cheerleader and later a proud member of the Fillies Dance Team. After high school, she entered the medical field where she found purpose in caring and helping others.

Erica always had a smile on her face and a way of making everyone feel welcomed and seen. No matter where she went, she seemed to know someone, and her presence had a way of lifting spirts and bringing people together.

Her loss leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Erica is survived by her three children: Josiah J. Moya, Alexis G. Moya and Julian J. Moya (affectionately known as “Sonny”). Her children were the light and greatest joy of her life. Erica is also survived by her mother, Irma Villarreal (partner Vincent Garcia), sisters April Villarreal (husband Rolando Ross) and Olivia Villarreal. She is also survived by niece Nadia and nephew Manuel (fiancé Cindy). Erica also leaves behind a large extended family including several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Erica is preceded in death by Jesse J. Chavez and by her grandmother, Frances Hernandez, and uncle Larry Villarreal.

Erica will truly be missed and forever loved. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her children, her family and all who were blessed to have known her.
