Eric Jonathan Olmstead was born on July 11, 1961, at the US Air Force facility at Burderop Park in Wiltshire, England, and passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, at the age of 64.

He enlisted in the US Navy in 1984 until his honorable discharge in 1992, attaining the rank of Petty Officer Second Class. Eric served aboard the USS Scampi and the USS Alabama, Blue Crew during his time of service.

Eric is preceded in death by his father Edwin Olmstead and beloved service dog Stormy. He is survived by his daughters Racquel Showers, her husband Levi Showers and Lisa Gonzales, her husband Isaac Gonzales; grandsons Raistlin Showers, Luccius Showers, and Nathaniel Hutson; great-grandsons Arlo Hutson and Nathaniel Hutson Jr.; mother, Cecilia Olmstead; sister Janice Romero, her husband Arnold Romero and their children and grand children; and brother, Edwin Thomas Olmstead and his children and grand children.

Services will be held on January 8, 2026, at 9 am, at La Luz Cristian Church, 537 La Vega Dr SW, Albuquerque,

NM 87105. Burial Services to follow at Santa Fe National Memorial Cemetery at 12:30 pm. 501 N. Guadalupe
