Epi Montoya, age 78, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Epi was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose life was defined by his deep love for his family, his steady presence, and the kindness he showed to everyone around him. He will be remembered for his warm heart, his unwavering dedication to those he loved, and the many ways he made life better simply by being part of it.

Epi is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Pauline Montoya; his two sons, Michael Montoya and Adrian Montoya; and his cherished grandchildren, Jacob, Jaclyn, Adrian Jr., and Kendra, who brought him immense joy and pride. He is also survived by his siblings, Pearl Sanchez, Nick Montoya, Jessie Montoya, and David Montoya, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Epi was preceded in death by his parents, Epimenio Sr. and Amalia Montoya, and his sister, Cecilia Lucero.

He graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1965 and later retired from Thomas and Betts after more than 20 years of dedicated service. Throughout his life, Epi carried the values of hard work, integrity, and kindness.

Epi’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A viewing and Rosary will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Trujillo Funeral Home, 110 Alvarado Dr. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.

A funeral mass and burial will take place at a later date.
