Eloy Andres
Lopez
Nov 5, 1987 — Aug 1, 2026
Eloy Andres Lopez, 38, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on August 2, 2026.
He was born on November 5, 1987 to parents Angel Lopez and Elaine Lopez(Gallegos). Eloy
grew up with his brothers in Albuquerque. He was very energetic and enjoyed racing bmx,
rollerblading, and playing ball with his family and friends. He also enjoyed music and could
regularly be found at shows and creating his own beats. He continued to be passionate about
these things throughout his life.
Eloy had an array of gifts. Among those were a talent for creating music and beautiful works of
art. He had an enthusiasm for the culinary arts (a skill he would make a living from). He enjoyed
spending time with animals. They brought him a sense of peace. He was a fiercely
compassionate person who loved his children deeply and cared greatly for his friends and family.
For much of his life, Eloy fought a painful battle with addiction. Although he struggled he
continued to fight his disease. With numerous treatments and a deep love for his family, his
determination allowed him more than two years straight of sobriety. His strength during that time
came from his want to be better for his kids.
We will remember Eloy for his tenacity, his humanity and his kind spirit. He was love and light,
darkness and sadness, laughter and hope. May his smile and humility carry us through our grief.
Eloy leaves behind: his children, Makaveli Ryan Lopez and Melody Angel Lopez; his
grandmother, Eloisa Jimenez; father, Angel Lopez, mother and stepdad Elaine Lopez and Bernie
Otero; his siblings, Angel (Natalie) Lopez and Mathew (Alex) Lopez; his nieces and nephews,
Santiago, Abigail, Manolo and Marisol; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He is reunited with those who went before him, including grandparents, Angel and Mary Lou
Lopez, and James Jimenez; and beloved friends.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on August 17 at 10:00am at Trujillo Family Funeral
Home. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
May he rest in love.
