“Doug”

Douglas “Doug” A. Perry JR., 62, of Raton, NM, died unexpectedly, Friday,

July 31, 2026, at 12:14am, in Santa Fe, NM with his wife by his side. He was born

August 18, 1963, in Raton, NM. He was the son of Douglas Perry SR. and Ruby Mae Scott-Perry.

Doug graduated high school in Gadsden, AL. He played football, baseball

and ran track his high school years. He enjoyed breaking horses, boxing, fishing,

he loved his Dallas Cowboys and his Alabama Roll Tide. While living in Alabama,

Doug was a Pharmacy Tech for many years. While living in Raton, Doug worked

for Morgan Builders for several years. During his younger years he worked for La

Mesa Park Horse Track exercising the horses. He loved spending time with his

family and loved ones. He loved dancing and making everyone around him laugh.

His favorite thing to do was feed people when he would BBQ. He loved helping his

friends and family in any way he could. He loved those that loved him back and

showed up for him. Doug married Keri Welch on July 11, 2021, in Trinidad, CO.

Doug and Keri just celebrated 5 years of marriage a couple of weeks prior to his passing.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and brothers

John and Robert Vigil, and adopted Dad Gilbert Vigil, other adopted Dad, Graciano Sena.

Survivors include his wife, Keri Perry, son, Shah Martin, daughter,

Donnaneicea Perry, son, Alexander Welch, grandchildren, Christian Martin, Shah

Martin JR., DeAzjanae Jones, Josalyn Jones and Danny Jones III. Doug also has

several brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.

Doug is also survived by his adopted Mama, Amelia Vigil, nephew, Frankie

Vigil (Nicolette), niece, Rosa Vigil (Jamarcus Jones), nephews, Elijah and Emiliano

Vigil, niece, Serenity Vigil, and special nephew, Sebastian Villa-Vigil.

Arrangements will be made for a private Celebration of Life TBA.
