With heavy hearts and great sadness, we announce the passing of Dorothy Griego, 77, who left her family on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Dorothy was a Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Great Aunt and a friend to many.
Dorothy was a very Independent woman with a strong personality. She always said what she meant and meant what she said. For many years she was a Caregiver, she found joy in her career, taking care of older ones and retired at the age of 70 years old.
Dorothy enjoyed art and she was able to continue her hobby by painting ceramics of animals at the Barela’s Senior Center. This was something she looked forward too with her friends weekly.
Dorothy is survived by her Brothers Macario {Wife-Cora} Griego, Elias {Wife-Betty Ann} Griego, Ralph {Wife-Cita} Anaya and Sister Barbara Garcia. Her Daughter in-law Tori Jacobus, grandchildren Alex, Sebastian and Camille Jacobus. Aunt Augustina Garcia, Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews and numerous cousins.
Preceded in Death by her Parents, Grandparents, Brother Crecenciano Griego, Christobal Griego and her son Jessie Jacobus.
A viewing and Service to honor her beautiful life will be held on Thursday, December 18th at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105.

Rosary: 8:15 am
Mass: 9:00 am
Burial in Carnuel
Reception Meal approximately 12 noon, St Anne’s Parish Hall
Pallbearers will be Elias Griego, Ralph Anaya, Arsenio Anaya, Sebastian Jacobus with Honorary Pallbearers, Jessica Garcia, Emily Anaya, Camille Jacobus, and Alex Jacobus.
