Dolores M. Lopez (Torres/Sanchez), age 79, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, in Manzano, New Mexico. Born on October 8, 1946, in Punta de Agua, New Mexico. Dolores lived a life rooted in faith, family, and community. A devoted wife to Orlando S. Lopez, Dolores dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her role as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is lovingly remembered by her children Carmela Lopez; Pamela Ibarra and her husband Vicente; and Daniel Lopez and his wife Janet. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Jonathon, Jacqueline, Gabriella, Julissa, Jacob, Ashley, Lexus, Myles, and Dante; and great-grandchildren: Carlos, Gabriel, Penelope, Emiliano, and baby Jacob, Dolores was preceded in death by her beloved parents Tobias and Teresa Sanchez; her sisters Cora Alderete and Cecilia Chavez; and her brother Toby Sanchez. She is also mourned by her siblings Mario Sanchez; Vivian Sanchez and his wife Ester; Claude Sanchez and his wife Brenda; and Carla Lucero and her husband Frank.

Her unwavering devotion to the Catholic faith was a defining part of Dolores’s life. Known throughout the community for her prayers and spiritual support, she was often the first person others turned to in times of need. Whether lighting a candle for someone’s special intention or offering heartfelt prayers on their behalf, Dolores embodied compassion and spiritual strength. Her home always reflected the same care she gave to others – meticulously maintained with pride and warmth. Dolores was also known for her exceptional cooking skills. Her kitchen was a place of comfort where meals were prepared with love and shared generously with family and friends. Those fortunate enough to call her a friend knew they had someone loyal and true by their side.

A Funeral Rosary and Mass will be held in honor of Dolores on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 10:30a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows (Nuestra Senora De Los Dolores), located at 7501 NM-55 in Manzano. Pallbearers will be Daniel Lopez, Vicente Ibarra, Steven Burns, and Rick Valdez. Honorary pallbearers include Vivian Sanchez, Mario Sanchez, and Claude Sanchez, Dolores’s life was one of deep faith and enduring love – a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
