In Loving Memory of Dee Applegarth

he was simply one of the most amazing men you could ever have the privilege of knowing.

With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Dee Applegarth—a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, and the steady foundation of a family who loved him beyond words.

To those who knew and loved Dee, he was so much more than these titles. He was simply one of the most amazing men you could ever have the privilege of knowing.

Right after graduating from high school, Dee answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Army. Even as a young man, his decision to serve reflected the qualities that would define the rest of his life: courage, loyalty, strength, hard work, selflessness, and an unwavering commitment to taking care of others.

At the center of Dee’s life was an extraordinary love story.

He shared 68 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Joan Applegarth. For nearly seven decades, Dee and Joan walked through life side by side, building a home, raising a family, weathering life’s seasons, celebrating its joys, and creating a legacy that now reaches through multiple generations.

At the center of Dee’s life was an extraordinary love story.

Dee is survived by his two children, Sandra Neff and her husband, Richard Neff, and Daniel Applegarth and his wife, Lisa Applegarth.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brittany Francis, husband Rick,

Jacob Neff, wife Amanda and Austin Neff, and his five great-grandchildren, Gianna Neff, Tori Francis, Kylee Holloway, Ricky Francis, and Daniel Francis.

Dee was the kind of man whose life became part of the foundation beneath everyone he loved.

May Dee rest peacefully, reunited with his beloved Joan, knowing that the family they built together will continue carrying their love, stories, values and legacy forward for generations to come.
