David Roy Garcia, 82, of Seboyeta, NM, passed away in the early morning of Friday, July 31, 2026, surrounded by his loving family in the Albuquerque home he built with his own two hands.

“Roy” was born to Salvador Garcia and Dorita Martinez; he had 8 brothers and 3 sisters. He served in the United States Army from 1962-1965. Roy married his high school sweetheart, Rosella Archunde of Bibo, NM on December 28, 1963.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Lloyd, Salvi, & Ray, and sister Sandra. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rosella, son Rodney & wife Kim, daughter Jeannie & husband Robert, daughter Deana & husband Matthias. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren: Rachel, Tracey, Patrick (Felicia), Roy Allen, Monica, Meagan, Lauren, Sarah (Nick), Dominic, and Kevin, as well as 8 great-grandchildren who were the light of his life: Jolie, Roman, Harlow, Arden, Ethan, Haylee, Nora, and Grayson.

Roy was a mechanic and true handyman who could fix or build almost anything. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time with his great-grandkids, and going to “The Ranch” in Bibo for Friday night poker games with his brothers.

A Rosary will be recited in Roy's honor, led by his brother Uvaldo & wife Jean on August 21, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Trujillo Family Funeral Home, followed by a reception at the family home. Roy’s ashes will be placed to rest in the mountains of Seboyeta.
