David Aragon

January 30, 1956- November 4, 2025

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of David Aragon on November 4. 2025, age 69, a resident of Los Lunas, New Mexico. He passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones after years of surviving prolonged illnesses. He was born in Lordsburg, New Mexico to Betty Garza and Gilbert Aragon. David grew up in the South Valley of Albuquerque and he attended Rio Grande High School. David was a proud Veteran and joined the Army at the age of 18. He married his wife Debra Aragon in 1993 with 32 years of marriage. They had their daughter Donna Aragon in 1997. He resided in Lindrith, New Mexico for many years and later moved to Los Lunas, New Mexico.

David was a proud man of God. He loved spending quality time with family and teaching his granddaughters. He enjoyed car shows, fast cars, mechanics, welding and carpentry. David loved to drive fast & go off roading. He used to say, “the new saying for ‘drive it like you stole it,’ is ‘drive it like you bought it’.” He loved to joke and make people laugh. He enjoyed his coffee and cigarette on a crisp morning.

David was dedicated, determined, and worked hard his whole life. He accomplished many trades throughout his life. Such as, butcher, ranch manager, construction foreman, railroad worker, operated heavy machinery, and a “hot-rod mechanic (as he would say). David advocated for those struggling with addiction and inspired others to maintain their sobriety. He helped when one was in need, guided others to learn from his mistakes, and did not believe in judging others.

David was caring, loving, kind, funny, graceful, and humble. He was intelligent, creative, innovative, and could fix literally, anything! David sacrificed for his family with no hesitation. He valued relationships, loyalty, and respect. He gave his life, his strength and anything he had into being the best man, husband, father, and grandfather. David was honored to be a beloved son, uncle, brother, and friend. David Aragon lived a long a graceful life and will be sincerely missed.

David Aragon was survived by his wife Debra Aragon, his daughter Donna Aragon (Joaquin), lovely granddaughters Aaryce Houston, Azaylia Aragon, and Essynce Houston. He is also survived by his mother Betty, his sisters Diane (Joe), Shirley (Phil), Norma Knox; His brothers Jesse, Henry (Laura), Steve (Laura), amongst several loved ones, nephews, nieces, and friends.

David is surrounded by many angels, preceded in death by his father Gilbert, brothers Clifford, Patrick, his sisters Evelyn, nephew Adrian, in-laws Patrick, Olivama, Manuel, Baby Roger, Felix, granddaughter’s dad Larado, as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and other family members.

Please try to find peace in knowing David is no longer in pain and is resting in peace. He is waiting patiently for his loved ones beside Our Angels & Our Lord.

Burial & Last Ride Monday, November 17, 2025 Burial- 2pm After the mass, family and friends are welcome for the last ride to drive from San Clemente Parish to Santa Fe National Cemetery for burial.

Celebration of Life Saturday, November 22nd at 12pm.
