Dale Galvan

Dale Galvan, 66 years old of Rio Rancho, New Mexico went home to be with his Lord. He passed away at his residence from natural causes on June 13, 2022.

He was born June 21, 1955 in Santa Ana, California to Rufugio and Josephine Galvan. He graduated from Gilbert High School, then went onto Cypress Community College, Cal State Fullerton and Chapman University in California, where he received his Batchelor’s Degree and License in Education. He continued with his education and received his Master’s Degree in Social Work from Highlands University in New Mexico. Finally, he graduated from Argosy University in California with his Doctorate of Education, Counseling Psychology. He served in both branches of the military, Army and Air Force, both with Honorable Discharge.

Dale’s first passion was his family. He was married to Stella Galvan for 44 years. His second passion was learning and educating others, especially those of the marginalized community. He became an educator and returned to Gilbert Continuation High School to pour into his students what he had learned. His goal was to encourage and motivate his students to continue their education at the college and university level. He moved to New Mexico in 2006 where he began his second career in Counseling and continued there until present day.

During his downtime he enjoyed listening to music, watching sports, or being outdoors. On cool mornings you could find him playing basketball at the park with his wife Stella.

Dale is survived by his wife Stella Galvan, his children Benjamin Galvan, Reuben Galvan, Jessica Puentes, Isaac Galvan, and his 11 grandchildren.

He is loved and will always be alive in our hearts and in our memories.
