Corine S. Gabaldon

With deep sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Corine S. Gabaldon, who left us on September 15, 2025, at the age of 86. Corine was born February 25, 1939, in Tome’, NM to her parents, Tomas and Senaida Griego Sanchez.

Corine had many interests, including quilting, crochet, jewelry, and the casino. She lived a life full of adventure, participating in our family excursions with her husband, Manuel Gabaldon, and her two children, Rosemary and Kathryn, and her loving favorite grandson, Manuel J. Gabaldon.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Tomas and Senaida Sanchez, her loving husband, Manuel Gabaldon, her precious sister, Caroline Romero. She is also preceded in death by her wonderful companion, Frank Chavez, and after Frank’s passing, her generous, attentive companion, Barry Anderson, and her sister-in-law, MaryAnn and nephew, Christopher.

She is survived by her immediate family: her daughter, Kathryn Gabaldon, her daughter, Rosemary Gabaldon and Rosemary’s partner, Arnold Aragon, and Rosemary’s son, Manuel J. Gabaldon. She is also survived by a large extended family that includes her brother-in-law, Higinio Romero and her husband’s siblings and their spouses Genevieve and Al; Adela; Richard and Lucille; JoAnn and Jack. Corine had eleven nieces and nephews and 24 great nieces and nephews.

The list of friends that saw her as mom, grandma, and generous loving woman is too extensive to outline, although each and every one is held within our hearts, as we know Corine’s influence touched so many.

Memorial services will be held Friday, October 10, 2025, at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. The rosary will begin at 9:30 am with mass to follow at 10 am. Reception is immediately following at the church hall. She will be interned with her husband, Manuel, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 North Guadalupe St., Santa Fe, NM 87501. Burial time is 2:30 pm.
