Consuelo L. Yañez went peacefully into the arms of our Lord on Sunday August 16, 2026 at the young age of 70 after a long battle with breast cancer. Consuelo was born on February 18, 1956 in El Paso, Texas and she was an alumna of Bowie High School. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, and tia. She prioritized her family's care and well-being above all else.

Consuelo chose to live a loving life of service by showing acts of kindness to those around her. She was known to give a helping hand to others in need. Her home was always open, and she welcomed everyone with a loving heart and a delicious meal. Consuelo enjoyed quality time with her daughters, her holiday themed village collections, and traveling to San Diego, Hawaii, and anywhere else her heart led her to. She never met a stranger and her wonderful sense of humor brought laughter to those she encountered.

Consuelo is preceded in death by her parents Francisca and Ignacio Yañez, loving partner Todd McMeans, sisters Hermila Monarres and Adela Cruz, sister-in-law Maria Elena Yañez, and brother-in-law Henry Perez. She is survived by her loving daughters Victoria Yañez-Sandoval (Jose), Sarah Yañez, and Ashley Hatcher, siblings Ignacio Yañez Jr., Bertha Perez, Salvador Yañez (Aurora), Yolanda Quezada (Oscar), Magdalena Estrada (Raul), Maria Teresa Rocha (Philip), Graciela Rodriguez, and Sylvia Valdez (Martin), brothers in law Arturo Monarres and Jose Cruz, and various beloved nieces and nephews.

Consuelo is deeply missed by all who knew her and she will live on in our hearts forever.
