Cherie Joy (Space) Landon, 60, died unexpectedly in her home in Albuquerque, NM.
She was born in Binghamton, New York on August 14,1965.
Cherie had an IQ of 133 and was a highly respected and dedicated RN+BSN travel nurse for more than 10 years.
A champion for the mentally ill, she treated her patients with respect, calm and understanding. When approached w/questions or complaints she would listen w/sincere compassion.
Cherie loved to sing. Her voice was exceptional. She performed, along w/her sister, with the Opera Cabaret of Endicott (NY) for 2 years.
She would eventually head a country band called "Luck of the Draw" and booked shows in numerous venues.
Among her favorites to listen to were Simon and Garfunkle, Jim Croce and Jelly Roll.
She wrote beautiful lyrics which she had hoped one day would be set to music.
She also happened to be an above average pool player.
Cherie is preceded in death by her parents, father Harold Space Jr. and Mother Joan.
She is survived by her husband Lewis Van Wert.
Her beloved son Mike Landon of Vestal NY. Sister Michelle Jollie of Albuquerque, NM. Brothers Marc Space of Rancho de Taos, NM and Michael (Mari) Space of Albuquerque, NM.
