Charlie Gilbert Gabaldon Jinzo
February 8, 1956 - June 2, 2025
Charlie Gilbert Gabaldon Jinzo, a seasoned 20-year United States Army Veteran with a wealth of experience and knowledge that he was never afraid to share.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charlie Gilbert Gabaldon Jinzo, who left this world peacefully on June 2, 2025, in Albuquerque, NM, preceded by the love of his family. Charlie was 69 years old.
He was preceded in death by Father Fermin Jinzo, Mother Pauline Jinzo, son Jose Jinzo, and daughter Faye Jinzo. Charlie was born on February 8, 1956, in Los Angeles, California, and made his home in Albuquerque, where he built a life full of love, laughter, and quiet strength.
He was a proud husband to Lorraine Jinzo and father to Charlie Jinzo Jr and wife Felicia, David Jinzo, Ramon Jinzo, Brother Ronnie Jinzo, Sister Fermina Jinzo, and Wanda Jinzo. Charlie had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Charlie was a kind of presence that made you feel safe and seen. His grandchildren meant the world to him. Anytime he had a chance to see them, his whole face would light up. He cherished every moment shared with them. Charlie found joy in the simple things: a calm lake at sunrise, the scent of a campfire, the tug of a fish on the line. fishing, hunting, and camping weren't just hobbies to him-- they were how he connected with the world and the people he loved most. Whether he was telling a story by the fire or teaching someone how to cast a line. Charlie made those ordinary moments feel sacred.
A man of Catholic faith, Charlie lived his values with humility. he didn't preach--He led by example, loyal and kind.
His memory lives on in the traditions he passed down: Sunday breakfast after mass with his children, perfectly tied knots, and stories that ended in laughter. He leaves behind a legacy of love, steadiness, and deep-rooted connection.
Let us enjoy the peace and quiet while we can. Rest easy, Dad, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
