Catherine Garduno

September 10, 1948 — September 26, 2025

It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Catherine

“Cathy” Garduno.

Our dear Lord blessed us with sharing her life for 77 years. Cathy was born in Las Vegas, NM on September 10, 1948, and was welcomed back into His arms on September 26, 2025. She was born to Adolfo and Rosine Garduno who predeceased her, as well as her brothers Gerald Garduno and Lawrence Garduno. She is survived by her brother Wilfred (Geneva) Garduno and her sister Louella (Mac) Rodriguez, who ensured love and care for their sister every day of her life. Several other family members also survive cathy.

Cathy was loving, happy, and welcoming to all who reached out to her, whether by visit or phone call. Her thoughtfulness and memory of each family member and friend was amazing, she always asked for each person by name no matter how long it had been since she last saw them. She enjoyed listening to the radio to hear the Holy Rosary prayer and Spanish music. Watching The Price Is Right on tv was a favorite pastime.

Throughout her life Cathy was blessed to have wonderful caregivers who brightened each day by sharing her interests in game shows and music.

They would take her out to enjoy parades and to go to church, or they would go shopping and eat out at restaurants, making each day a new adventure. Cathy’s caregivers became part of her family, and she was a part of theirs. Renee, Kim, and Imelda, along with Connie and Teresa were some of the ladies who blessed Cathy’s life by their everyday love and compassion. When she moved to Albuquerque, she was welcomed by Blanca and Maureen at Life Missions Family Services. They, along with Julianna, Ramona, Ariel, and Alyssa, helped her adjust to a new home by welcoming her with kindness and respect. All these ladies helped Cathy live her best life! Their hard work and value to Cathy’s life can never be measured. Cathy and her family are grateful to all her caregivers for making her life full. During her last months, Hospice De La Luz helped usher Cathy to a peaceful end of life. Her hospice team also supported her family through this trying time. The family of Cathy would also like to thank Dillon Rodriguez for all his hard work keeping track of the details that provided Cathy with wonderful care.

Services to be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Albuquerque with the date and time to be announced. Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
