Carl Jamison, born November 26, 1955, passed away on April 13, 2026 at the age of 70. He leaves behind a wife of 31 years, Julie; a daughter Rachel (Sean); grandchildren, Reagan, Dylan and Keegan; a great grandaughter Ryleigh Ann.

In 1986, Carl opened Talon Studio of Photography where he photographed families, seniors, sports and wedding for almost 40 years. Photography Association work was extremely satisfying to him during his career as he served as the President of

The Professional Photographer's Association of New Mexico (PPANM) and was it's Executive Secretary for many years. He received the National Award during his time with PPANM. He served as the President of the Southwest Professional Photographer's Association (SWPPA) which was the 5 state regional association. He served as a councilman for the Professional Photographer's Association of America (PPA) where he earned his Master of Photography Degree and his Photographic Craftsman Degree. Carl was honored in December 2001 at Brooks Institude of Photography in Santa Barbara, California as he delivered the commencement address to the last graduating class of 2001 and was awarded the Schools Honorary Master of Science in Photography Degree by Brooks Institude President John Calman. He was blessed to have received many awards for his photography over the years and enjoyed presenting programs at the state, regional and national levels to teach other photographers.

Carl was also an accomplished archer. Carl was a director from 2014-2017 for the New Mexico Bowhunters Association (NMBA) and a state champion in 2014 and 2015. Carl also was inducted into the NMBA Hall of Fame, July 14, 2018. Carl also served as a director for the National Field Archery Association (NFAA) and was a judge at multiple events and tournaments. He was a certified level 2 coach who worked with the Junior Olympic Archery Development program (JOAD).

A Memorial Celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 11:00am; 7241 Isleta Blvd SE, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Reception to follow.
