Billy Stewart Simpson

Age 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1983, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025. He was born in Franklin, Kentucky to Marcell Simpson and Maurine Stewart. He is survived by his sons, Stewart Allan Simpson and Bruce Simpson and step-sons, Albert Turkovich Jr., Donald Turkovich and Mark Turkovich; and 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Billy was a retired Regular Army Lieutenant Colonel having served in Germany, Vietnam, and Korea. He studied anthropology and Spanish at UNM. He also worked for Ethicon and Sears Roebuck. He loved the outdoors and traveling. He enjoyed playing doubles tennis for many years with a local tennis group. Cremation has taken place and a graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, 1 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, near the pavilion at the North end of the cemetery with Deacon Albert Turkovich Jr. officiating.
