Betty Sue Lindsey was born on March 9, 1944, in El Reno, Oklahoma to Frank and Leatha Palmer and went to be with our Lord on October 23, 2026, at the age of 82.
Betty was one of nine children. She began working at a young age and although she only had a ninth-grade education, she returned to college in her 50’s, earning a place on the Dean’s List and in the National Honor Society. She then had a successful career managing motel properties, earning numerous awards and accolades throughout her career before retiring at the age of 76.
Betty was a woman of faith that guided every aspect of her life. She began each morning reading her Bible and listening to her favorite preachers.
Betty treasured many special memories with each of her children. One such memory was going on her first missions trip to visit her daughter, Jennifer, and son-in-law, Scott, in Nicaragua. She saw her own faith reflected in their dedication to serving the Lord and sharing the Gospel.
Betty enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing games (Farkle was her favorite) dancing, shopping at Cato’s, going out to lunch and going on road trips, but most of all, she just loved spending time with her family, friends, and Jesus.
Betty is survived by her six children:
Donna (Craig), Rhonda, Jennifer (Scott), Rebecca (Kyle), Mitch (Carey), and Scotty. Her grandchildren: Sydney, Dylan, Tawni (Taylon), Sara, Jordan, Josh (Liz), Hannah, Journey, Kade, Konner, Sage, Anthony (Jazmyne), Christian (Kayla), and Daniel. Her great-grandchildren: Parker, Rylie, Bella, Dax, Brecken, River, Emma, Luca, Jianna, Mia, Mason, Anson, and Emersyn. She is also survived by her brother, Jack (Suzanne) Palmer, and her sister Arletta Vermillion, and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Leatha Palmer; her sisters, Eunice, Mildred, Leola, Carol, and Leatha; her brother, Mac; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Betty leaves behind a legacy rooted in compassion, kindness, grace, love, and hard work. Her greatest desire was the hope and prayer that her loved ones would continue telling others about the Lord whom she loved so dearly and that all her prodigals would come home.
“ Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.” Proverbs 31:31
“ For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is a gift from God” Ephesians 2:8
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
