Benny Valdez

Benny “Cleto” Valdez, born on July 25, 1949, in Flagstaff, NM, was a cherished soul whose journey ended peacefully in Albuquerque, NM, on June 19, 2025, at the age of 75.

As a devoted husband to his late wife, Lizet Valdez, Benny's greatest joy came from his role as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Vangie Campos and Yvonne (James) Rael, and his brother Tony (Melody) Valdez and sister Rose Martinez, and Billy. Benny joins his siblings, Mary Moreno, Faustino Valdez, and Olivia Roybal, in eternal rest, while his spirit continues to thrive in the hearts of those who remain.

He leaves behind a beautiful legacy through his grandchildren, Daniel (Sabrina) Rael, Jonathan (Alysha) Rael, Joseph (Marissa) Campos, and his beloved Jacob Campos, along with his 13 great-grandchildren: Isaac, Olivia, Nathaniel, Viviana, Xavier, Ezra, Easton, Sienna, Sterling, Victor, Jedediah, Zebediah, and Josiah.

Benny embodied a quiet strength coupled with an immense capacity for love. He found happiness in the simple pleasures of life—fishing, hunting, camping, pulling weeds, and enjoying the thrill of the casino. Yet, it was the time spent with his grandchildren that brought him the most fulfillment.

His legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering loyalty touches the countless lives he enriched throughout his journey. Benny Valdez will forever be remembered as a kind-hearted man whose spirit and warmth will continue to guide his family and friends in the days ahead. Services will be July 10th at 11:00 AM, New Soul Church, 7311 Glenrio Rd. NW Albuquerque, NM 87121.
