Antonio Leroy Torres

Antonio “Tony” Torres, 77, a resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday July 7th, 2024. Tony was born April 8th, 1947 to the late Juan Torres and Sophia Torres in Las Vegas, NM. Tony started his first job in Albuquerque working at Galles Chevrolet, he later moved to Las Vegas, NM where he worked at Swansons Laundromat where he met the love of his life, his late wife Virginia Torres. Tony later on went to work as an automotive body man for over 30 years working for Chevy Garage, Highland Ford and retiring from Capital Ford in Santa Fe. After retirement Tony continued small projects restoring cars, he also enjoyed fishing with his grandkids, going to music in the park, doing yard work and going to his favorite place, the casino. Tony is preceded in death by his wife Virginia Torres, grandson Jalen Lucero, parents Juan and Sophia Torres, brothers; Johnny and Manuel, sisters; Geneiva, Fabbi, Theresa, Lorrie, Marcella and Lucy and Brother in law; Alfredo Paiz

Tony is survived by his daughter Tanya Torres of Albuquerque, NM sons, Edward “Speedy” Gonzales and wife Patricia Gonzales of Colorado Springs, CO; Peter Trujillo and wife Shelly of Las Vegas, NM. Grandchildren, Kiara “KiKi” Garcia and husband Anthony, Emiliano Torres, Renee Dorries and husband, John, Erica Frayser and husband, Tristan, PJ Trujillo and wife, Joyce, and Amber Trujillo (Gerald). Great grandchildren, Javier Garcia, Elicia Trujillo (Vanessa), Marissa Sanchez (Chris), Anissa Sanchez, Alexis Jade Trujillo, Samantha Trujillo, Juan Diego Montano, Adora Dorries, Peter James Trujillo III, Helianna Frayser and Willa Frayser. Sister, Priscilla Lauritzen and husband Jim of Punta Gorda, FL. Brother in laws; Jose Paiz and wife, Paula of Las Vegas, Nash Paiz and wife, Mary of Albuquerque, Patricio Paiz and wife, Dora of Albuquerque. Sister-in-laws; Anita Paiz Gomez of Santa Fe, Mary Saiz of Clovis, NM and Juanita Paiz (Ron) of Las Vegas, NM. Special Nieces Adelita (ugly monster) Bentley and husband Johnnie of Boston, MA and Cathy Gallegos and husband Juan of Las Vegas, NM Niece; Lenore Ortega and husband Jim Ortega of La Manga, NM; Special friends, Paul and Irene Graston of Las Vegas, NM. Brother Steve Torres of Las Vegas, NM as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

The family would like to thank all of his nurses with AmberCare and his special Hospice nurse Brianna and his many new friends and medical team at Fiesta Park.The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Friday, July 26th at 9:00 AM with the Funeral Mass to follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father Rob Yaksich.
