Annette Mascarenas, 63, born on May 4, 1962, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, and formerly of Penasco, NM, passed away on February 11, 2026, with her loving husband and family by her side.
She was preceded in death by her biological parents, Pete Contreras and Merlinda Pacheco; her maternal grandmother, Adiana Pacheco, who raised her as her own daughter and whom she lovingly called Mom; and her maternal grandfather, Octaviano Pacheco. She was also preceded in death by her beloved grandsons, Zachary Mascarenas and Alvin Mascarenas; her father- and mother-in-law, Candido and Lucille Mascarenas; and her brother-in-law, Ernest Mascarenas. Aunts: Stella Pacheco, Rosa Esquita, and Doris Duran. Uncles: Charlie Pacheco, Octaviano Pacheco Jr. and Joe Pacheco. May they all rest in peace.
She is survived by her sisters, Rosemary, Tammy, Mabel (Daniel), and Clara; and her brother, Tom. Uncle and Aunts, Orlando Pacheco, Roseann Mondragon (Orlando) and Kate Gallegos. Sister-in-law Sylvia Mascarenas, Irene Duran (Steve). Brother-in-law: Andrew Mascarenas (Christine).
Annette is also survived by her loving husband of 47 years: Arnold Mascarenas, and her children, whom she loved dearly: Nathan Mascarenas and wife, Stacey; Matthew Mascarenas and wife, Rachelle; Anthony Mascarenas; and Vanessa Mascarenas.
She is further survived by her grandchildren, whom she adored with all her love: Justin, Isaac, Nevaeh, Alyssa, Marissa, Andre, Kalev, and Mateo; her great-granddaughter, Aurora; and her great-grandson, Azariah.
She also leaves behind many cherished family members and friends and her puppy Cash who was her shadow.
Annette was a woman of love, faith, and hope.
The family is grateful for all the prayers, visits, and support during this difficult time.
Viewing will take place on Tuesday March 3, 2026 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Trujillo Family Funeral Home Chapel 110 Alverado Dr SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108
Church services will take place Wednesday March 4, at 10:30 AM at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church 5712 Paradise Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114 Burial will follow immediately at the Mountain Valley Cemetery in Edgewood NM, Barton Road Edgewood, NM 87015. A gathering of family and friends will be held after the burial at the St. Judes Parish Hall. 5712 Paradise Blvd.
