Anita
Andrade
Apr 17, 1935 — Jul 18, 2026
Anita Andrade passed away July 18, 2026. She is survived by her husband Jose Andrade, children: Anthony Ortiz (Kim), Roberta Ortiz-Montoya (Fred), Carlos Ortiz, Andrew Ortiz (Carla), Jo Anna Ortiz (James), Kathy Andrade, Joe Andrade, Anna Andrade (John), as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren, her confidant, friend, and sister-in-law Juanita Baca. She leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who will miss her.
A nurse for 40 years, she truly enjoyed providing care to others.
She was a fantastic cook and baker! Everybody always commented about how flavorful and delicious her food was, saying they would always be happy to eat anything she would make.
She was proud of the art she created such as tin work, retabalos, and straw applique, as well as other crafts throughout the years. She was very generous in sharing her works with others. She at one time taught art at the Senior Center.
She was an avid reader. One of her favorite things to learn about was New Mexico and its history. She was a faithful fan of the author Rudolfo Anaya.
As a family, we would like to acknowledge and thank Fred Montoya for the kindness and compassion he showed in providing care for our mother.
