Angelica Maria De Aguero

Angelica “Gelly” De Agüero passed away on Friday, August 15, her 48th birthday, after many years of health issues.

Angelica grew up in Springer, NM and Albuquerque, NM. After high school, she attended trade school and worked for Sandia Laboratories. Later she bartended at several different establishments.

Angelica’s heart belonged to her family. Her dad was her fishing buddy, while her mom was her comfort and her rock. She looked up to her brother, Armando, and her sister, Dina.

She knew what it was to be down on your luck, which made her generous to a fault. She didn’t have much, but she would give you the shirt off her back if she knew you needed it. For Christmas and birthdays, she gave handmade gifts like small pieces of pottery or sometimes jewelry she beaded herself.

She gave her life to Christ and made rosaries for everyone.

She is survived by her parents, Arturo (Celina) De Aguero and Berta (Leroy) Armijo- Chavez, and by her siblings, Irene Moya, Armando De Agüero, Enedina (Anthony) Estrada and Analisa De Agüero, along with multiple step-siblings. She’s also survived by her nieces, Nieves Cleveland, Reyna Estrada, Jenelle Carbajal, Jocelyn Lobato and Adelina De Agüero, and by her three amigos, Rosa Monarrez, Allan Estrada and Alvaro Rivera.

A rosary will be recited at 8:00 am, followed by a celebration of life at 9:00 am August 28, 2025 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. All who knew her are invited to gather, to share stories and memories, and to honor a life that was cut short far too soon.
