IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Andrea
Soorikian
March 31, 1960 – February 6, 2026
Andrea Soorikian passed away peacefully in the early afternoon of Friday, February 6th, surrounded by love, flowers, and her favorite music. She was with her daughter, Williejane, and her adored caregiver, Hailey, in a room that reflected Andrea’s artistry—filled with color, flowers, and beauty, just as she had filled the world throughout her life.
Daughter of Diana and Levon Soorikian, Andrea was born in New York City and raised in Leonia, N.J. Family time spent on Block Island helped shape her love of nature, light and beauty. From an early age, Andrea's mother exposed her to art and encouraged her artistic talents, sparking a lifelong creative flame. This passion led Andrea to attend art school at The University of Michigan, where her artistic voice began to take shape.
She later lived in New York City as a mixed media artist, where she also discovered a deep love for flowers. In 1991, Andrea moved to New Mexico with her then-husband, Peter Dent. In 1993, she welcomed her daughter, Williejane, and soon after, her career as a floral and event designer truly blossomed. Andrea’s work spoke for itself—vibrant, expressive, and filled with color and beauty. Through her flowers and designs, she created meaningful moments and unforgettable settings for countless special days. In 2019, Andrea shifted her focus back to her mixed media art, devoting herself to beaded and embroidered pieces, wreaths, and intricate ink and pen drawings and paintings. Her creativity never slowed; it simply evolved, continuing to bring beauty into the world in new and deeply personal ways.
Beyond her immense artistic talent, Andrea was a one-of-a-kind woman. She had a profound love for life—especially hiking, music, cats, and her daughter, Williejane. Wherever she went, Andrea left beauty behind, not only through her art, but through her presence, her eye for wonder, and her deep appreciation for the world around her.
Andrea is survived by her daughter Williejane Dent (Matt Aquilina), her sister Anne (Michael) Bonadies, her brother Matthew (Karen) Soorikian, her nephews Nick, Joe (Emily) and Tony Bonadies and Lee Soorikian, her great nephew Henry and great nieces Nora and Amelia Bonadies. She is also survived by her ex-husband Peter (Jennifer) Dent and their son Gideon. Andrea is predeceased by her parents, Diana and Levon Soorikian, and her niece Emma.
Andrea will be incredibly missed but her spirit will always be with us. Look for the color and beauty she leaves behind—it is everywhere. Ahead, she is now with her dear niece Emma and her parents, Diana and Levon, held in peace and love.
In Andrea's memory, the family would appreciate donations to Compassionate Care Home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This special place was Andrea's home for the last year where she was cared for with great love. Venmo: @BrookeKellyHensley
